BE THE NEXT INFLUENCER- A Session on The Ability of BarStars As Bespoke Social Media Influencers
Social media has become a dominant driving factor in every aspect of our lives, and it impacts each action that we take, right from selecting the morning bed tea to picking up the ideal dress for the evening party. The popularity of a restaurant, a brand, a person or even a pet dog is indicated by the myriad parameters of social media, be it through subscription, likes, comments or viewership. No wonder, bloggers and influencers have started bagging widespread recognition through this virtual yardstick. While there are ample influencers in the fast food and fashion world, this can help our contemporary mixologists too to create stupendous impacts, considering the inclination of the modern populace towards the eccentric variants of liquor and cocktails. Taking this to heart, The Cocktail Story had recently organized the first ever fun yet educational experience for Indian bartenders – “BE THE NEXT INFLUENCER”, in collaboration with Side Car (venue partner), Paul John Whisky & Taste Britain (food and beverage partner) and Uniformiti (giveaway partner).
The event witnessed a breathtaking interactive session, exclusively for the Indian bartenders wherein Vidhi Puri, the founder of The Cocktail Story, spoke about the importance of social media, hacks to game up the Instagram presence and how bartenders are the next big thing with the full potential of becoming trending influencers. This idea came into shape when Vidhi read an excerpt in the February edition of GQ 2019 which claimed Chefs to be the new influencers announcing collaborations, pop-ups online and sharing pictures of travelling and tons of #foodporn.
With its presence in the community for more than a year now, The Cocktail Story has been observing the changes and capturing travel diaries of bartenders, doing bar guest shifts, posting about their concoctions and loads more, but there has been only one drawback, that’s the lack of apt knowledge about social media amongst them.
Through this masterclass, The Cocktail Story has aimed to create a difference digitally for the budding bartenders. The session was attended by more than 90 bartenders from all over Delhi NCR and even Jaipur. This first-of-its-kind session paved the way for the bartenders to utilize the power of social media in taking success on their fingertips.
